The Closing of Perch Home

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. With the current economic uncertainty, fluctuating tariffs, rising costs, and the ever-shifting political landscape, we've made the difficult decision to terminate our lease early for Perch Home. Our last day in business will be Friday, June 27, 2025.

Heather and I poured our hearts and souls into this store, and we will miss it dearly. From welcoming our guests, forging new friendships, attending the Las Vegas Market, discovering and curating inventory, to the daily interactions that brightened our days — it has truly been an unforgettable journey.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our friends and family who supported Perch Home along the way. Whether you helped us paint, build displays, brought us meals (or cookies!), shared our posts, stopped in to say hello, made a purchase, contributed inventory, or worked behind the scenes, we are forever grateful for your kindness and generosity. Your support meant the world to us, and we love you all dearly.

Starting a business is a dream many hold but few pursue, and while Perch Home’s run was shorter than we hoped, we have no regrets. Over the past 18+ months, we learned more than we ever anticipated — through our successes, mistakes, and humbling experiences. I will always look back on this chapter with immense pride and gratitude, especially for having had the best partner anyone could ask for.

Had we been a few years further along, perhaps more established, we might have weathered the storm. But in times of tightening budgets, a gift store — offering wants more than needs — feels the pinch. And so, it's time to turn the page.

While this chapter closes, many new adventures await. Heather will continue her work with her current employer, and I have a new opportunity on the horizon. We're excited to travel more, embrace the freedom ahead, and step into our next role: being grandparents.

Perch Home was more than a store; it was a dream realized, a space filled with joy, and a chapter of our lives that we'll cherish forever. Onward and upward — with no regrets.
